The most important thing in golf is to control the golf ball. That is more likely to be achieved if we we get the arms and body working in sync. It helps to give greater control of the club face, and therefore more control of the golf ball.

A lot of people think they should swing the club slowly, but the best players in the world create the fastest club head speeds. This is achieved by swinging the arms into the room created by your body turn, which allows you to release the club head with maximum speed. A quote from John Jacobs was 'two turns and a swish!'

To improve your strike which will help you to control your ball flight, hinge the wrists when the shaft gets parallel to the ground, halfway through your back swing. Make sure you swing the club down to the back of the ball. Do NOT try to scoop it up.

As you get older and less able to rotate your body through a full finish, it's important to cock the wrists on the back swing and use the hands to swish the club at impact. That creates club head speed. A slightly stronger grip will help you achieve this!
